One Day Taj Mahal Trip Story
I WAS CLEANING MY ROOM AS IT WAS DUE FOR A LONG. FOUND A OLD PHOTGRAPH OF 5 YEAR OLD ME with MAA and baba with the magnificent background. Oh, it was the Tajmahal, one of most visited tourist destinations in India. Last time I visited Agra , I was a teenager, Not very interested in the history and glory of this centuries old building, it was just a annual outing thing for me.
As this building is a tourist magnet, I decided to revisit this medieval wonder as youngster who just finished college. So, I logon to IRCTC website and booked the hotel and ticket for next weekend.
It was a foggy morning as my train reaches the Agra fort railway station. I hire a taxi and go to my pre booked Rooms hotel by Vacation Trip India. After breakfast, I headed to the one and only tajmahal.
The Tajmahal : iconic , magnificent , jaw dropping- mere words can never justify the beauty of this landmark of eternal love. This masterpiece is built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in memory his Begum(loved wife) Mumtaz. It is erected on bank of Yamuna river in 1653 AD. It took Shahjahan 21 years and 32 million rupees. The Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE for being “the jewel of Mughal art and one of the globally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage”. It is a symbol of India’s rich history. It hold the crown for one of the seven modern wonders.
The central focus of this jaw dropping ivory-white mausoleum is tomb of Shahjahah and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Tajmahal constructed in Charbagh style of Persian architecture with notable blend of Hindu Rajput architecture.
